Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Buddy (the “Service”), provided by Spirish (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

The Service & Educational Purpose

Buddy is an AI-powered language-learning application providing interactive conversational practice, structured courses, pronunciation feedback, and translation tools. The Service is provided solely for personal educational and self-study purposes.

AI Disclaimer & Limitations

AI-generated conversational responses, translations, and explanations are produced by automated artificial intelligence models. While we strive for accuracy, AI responses may occasionally contain errors, biases, inaccuracies, or hallucinations. The Service is not a certified translation service or official language certification authority, and should not be relied upon for critical, legal, medical, or safety decisions.

Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information upon registration and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities occurring under your account. Notify us immediately at support@spirish.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

  • Billing: Subscriptions (Pro, Premium) are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through Google Play or Apple App Store according to the terms selected at the time of purchase.
  • Credits: Plan credits refresh at each billing cycle. Free credits and monthly plan allocations are non-transferable and have no monetary cash value.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: All payments and refunds are handled exclusively by Google Play or Apple App Store in accordance with their respective refund policies.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to generate, transmit, or promote illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or fraudulent content.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, crawl, or attempt to extract the source code or proprietary training models of the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, availability, or security of our networks, servers, or API endpoints.
  • Resell, rent, or lease access to the Service or API quotas to third parties without express written permission.

Intellectual Property

All software, user interfaces, designs, logos, graphics, brand features, and course structures contained in Buddy are the exclusive intellectual property of Spirish and its licensors. You retain ownership of content you submit, granting us a limited license solely to process and display it to deliver the Service to you.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms our users, systems, or third parties. You may terminate your account at any time via the in-app deletion feature.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spirish and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Spirish operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
